HELP PROTECT THE PAST BY MAKING A GIFT TODAY!
The Pearson Field Education Center is proud to provide STEM-based education with an emphasis on aviation. Students learn in a fun atmosphere, receiving instruction from pilots and aviation enthusiasts who have a passion for flight and are happy to inspire kids. The goal is to engage and challenge future pilots, mechanics, tower controllers, and engineers who will enter the workforce with a love of the industry and related opportunities.
Your gift today will support this effort and help strengthen our community and economy through future employees who welcome a challenge, are prepared to solve problems in a collaborative manner, and have opportunities they may not have explored.
- Provide opportunities for summer camps to kids.
- Support programs that offer kids a chance to take their first flight.
- Provide much needed supplies for model planes and radio-controlled aircraft.
- Help with transportation costs for campers to visit local aviation manufacturer site visits.
Let’s Take Flight!
Let’s Take Flight! is our annual campaign in support of Pearson Field Education Center. Our donors, community supporters, visitors, sponsorships, and special events are all important parts of this annual effort. The annual fundraiser in May (under the Let’s Take Flight! name) is the biggest event of the year. In 2017 we hosted 220 people for a fun night of food, drink, silent and oral auction and enjoyed our keynote speaker, Jerry McWithey, Director of Flight Operations at Insitu. The night was a huge success! Plan on joining the movement to support STEM education and inspiration by making a donation to Let’s Take Flight!
The Pearson Field Education Center offers many programs with varied opportunities for sponsorships. Your organization will be associated with an inspirational program that leads to aspirations for higher education, jobs in a rapidly growing industry, and a lifelong passion for flight.
Summers are our busiest time at Pearson Field Education Center. Weekly aviation camps are offered to kids 8-17 that include the mechanics of flight, time on flight-simulators, and trips to local aviation related museums, manufacturers and hands-on instruction.
Each year kids from Clark County and the surrounding area sign up for week-long summer camps at Pearson Field Education Center. Help us reach every child by supporting our scholarship program. Scholarships are awarded based on need and we work with local school districts to ensure kids who want to attend summer aviation camp have the opportunity.
The Pearson Field Education Center is open each Saturday, rain or shine, from 10am to 5pm for families to enjoy making model airplanes, testing paper mock ups on the wind-tunnel, testing your piloting expertise on the flight simulators and reviewing the historic planes in our hangar. It is an educational day for all!
Open Cockpit Day
More than 600 people attended in 2017. Families enjoyed a day at the education center and some signed up for airplane rides, usually a child’s first time in the air.
Enjoy ‘All Saints Day’ at the education center in a safe and fun environment. Mood lighting and treats indoors with something for everyone to do.
